Recommended Ingredients & Equipment

These tacos are made with just a handful of basic kitchen ingredients! You don't need many ingredients to make these homemade tacos taste amazing.

Here is everything you need.

ingredients for homemade tacos including tempeh, cilantro, oil, soy sauce, tomatoes, avocado, black beans, cumin, and taco shells

Ingredient Notes

  • Vegan Taco Meat – For these yummy classic vegan tacos, we are using our favorite tempeh taco meat recipe! For a quicker option, consider using your favorite store bought vegan taco filler.
  • Avocado – Be sure to pick an avocado that is slightly soft and firm to the touch, but not too soft. Learn more about picking the best avocado so you can always have the perfect avocado.
  • Black Beans – For this recipe, you can use either canned or dry beans. If you are using dry beans, then be sure to soak them and cook them first. You could also use pinto beans or chili beans if you prefer.
  • Tomato – We used fresh Roma tomatoes in this recipe, but you can use any variety of tomato. Canned diced tomatoes are always fine for these tacos.

Recommended Equipment

For this recipe, you will need basic cooking equipment including mixing bowls, basic kitchen utensils, a non-stick skillet, a chef's knife, and a wooden cutting board. (<<affiliate links)
