A refreshing and boozy summertime beverage, this vegan Coffee Stout Float is something you’ll want to get your hands on immediately.
Summer, my friends! Isn’t it great?
Okay, you all know about my love/hate relationship with summer but these days I am only focusing on the good. In truth, the start of summer was a very painful time for me. I was recently out of a relationship, heartbroken and confused, and struggling to find a light at the end of the tunnel.
Then, in the midst of my sadness, I started doing something that has literally changed my life. I started a gratitude journal.
Every morning I begin my day by writing out a list of 10 gratitudes. Often the same gratitudes show up every day. I am always grateful for my health, my work, my kids, and my home. Sometimes I have specific gratitudes for a friend that I’m going to see that day or a person that inspires me or a conversation that lifted my spirits. Every list is unique and special and full.
In the end, I realized I have a whole lot to be grateful for.
Since we are right in the middle of the hottest days of summer, I figured I should offer you something that will cool you down. So today I am sharing these vegan Coffee Stout Floats made extra special with Sorbabes’ Coffee Almond Sorbet.
What is Sorbabes?
It’s only that incredible New York-based gourmet dessert company with sorbets that eats like the creamiest ice cream I’ve ever had and flavors that are out of this world!
You may remember the review of Sorbabes that I wrote last month where I declared I had found the BEST new frozen dessert in the Portland market; the unicorn of desserts. If you haven’t read it yet, make sure to check it out later but in short, Sorbabes creates divinely decadent sorbets using whole non-GMO ingredients and unrefined sweeteners. Among their flavors, you will find
- Coffee Almond with Espresso Bark
- Passionfruit with Vanilla Bark and Orange Zest
- Pistachio with Sea Salted Caramel
- Raspberry with Dark Chocolate
I have loved every one I’ve tried, but I have a special love for the Coffee Almond with Espresso Bark. Grab yourself a pint and you’ll know what I’m talking about!

How to find vegan stouts
As you may know, a lot of stouts use gelatin or fish in the process and therefore, aren’t considered vegan. If you are having trouble finding a vegan stout, I often refer to Barnivore. You can type “Stout” in the keyword search and you’ll instantly get a list of all the vegan stouts available.
