And just like that, November has come to an end. It’s been a month of Thanksgiving recipes and holiday planning all the while prepping for the impending chaos of winter. The next few months will, in fact, be a whirlwind. With Christmas holidays, the kids’ birthdays, a bathroom remodel, and a move (yes, after living in my little blue house for the past 8 1/2 years, I am packing it up and moving on), I’m prepared for things to get a little bit hectic.
In September I started a new series here on the blog – The BEST Of. The BEST Of is a monthly post dedicated to reflecting on the grandest moments from the past few weeks. And with the wild winter whirlwind on it’s way, this pause-and-reflect couldn’t come at a better time.
So let’s get started.
It was a lovely November! A trip to the beach to celebrate a one year anniversary with my partner, a couple of Thanksgiving dinners, tree cutting followed by tree decorating, and lots of Christmas baking.
I love this time of year!
But that’s not all I’ve been up to this November.
What I’ve been…
Doing – This past month I’ve been working a lot in order to ease my workload in December and January. I’ve been busy making all kinds of cookie recipes to share with you this December and cleaning eating recipes for your healthy Januarys. Outside of the kitchen, I’m preparing for a new year of My Darling Vegan products. Speaking of which, did you see that the My Darling Vegan tote bags are now on sale for just $10?!
Eating – Well, basically all the Thanksgiving food I can handle. With recipe testing that started weeks ago, it’s been a month full of Vegan Lentil and Mushroom Loaf, Cauliflower Mashed Potatoes, and Pumpkin Pie. I love Thanksgiving food, but if I’m really honest, I’m getting pretty ready for my 30 day cleanse.
Drinking – Remember when I was telling you last month about Dry Farm Wines? It’s an exciting new wine club dedicated to natural, healthy, ALWAYS vegan wines. Monthly they mail out 6 bottles of additive and sugar-free wine. Wine right to my doorstep! And here’s the best part: you can get your first bottle for only a penny! I recommend checking them out.
Dreaming – I’ve been dreaming about Christmas! I’m ready to put on this record, whip up a batch of some Christmas Sangria, decorate the house, and fill up the Advent Calendar with treats for the kids. I am so excited!
Wanting – I love this vintage-inspired Snowy Lane 16-Piece Dinnerware Set from Sur La Table. It’s so classic and charming. Each piece has a hand-painted nostalgic winter scene that would make anything festive from here until the end of the year. So lovely!
Loving – Life! I am in a season that continues to be good and life giving. After going through the most difficult season and barely surviving the past 3 years of single parenting, I didn’t know that I could feel so uplifted and excited. From the darkest moments, this life has become so beautiful and good. Sometimes it’s the pain that puts those things in perspective and for that, I embrace ALL of the pain from the past 3 years fully. I’ve been returning to this quote recently which, literally, brings me to tears every time.
